Installation





REAR SUSPENSION: REAR LOWER ARM: INSTALLATION

HINT
* Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
* The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

1. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY

(a) Temporarily install the rear No. 2 suspension arm assembly to the rear suspension member sub-assembly with the bolt, nut (D) and washer.

(b) Temporarily install the rear No. 2 suspension arm assembly to the rear axle assembly with the bolt (A) and nut.

NOTICE:
Turn the bolt while holding the nut.

(c) Temporarily install the stabilizer link assembly and the height control sensor link bracket to the rear No. 2 suspension arm assembly with the bolt and nut (C).

HINT
There are only the height control sensor link bracket on vehicles with the HID headlight system.

(d) Temporarily install the rear shock absorber with coil spring with the bolt (B) and nut.

NOTICE:
Turn the bolt while holding the nut.

2. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a jack and wooden block, jack up the rear axle assembly to replicate standard vehicle height conditions.

(b) Temporarily tighten the rear No. 1 suspension arm assembly with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

NOTICE:
Turn the bolts while holding the nuts.

3. STABILIZE SUSPENSION Installation

4. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY

(a) Fully tighten the bolt (A).





Torque : 161 Nm (1642 kgf-cm, 119 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
* Turn the bolt while holding the nut.
* The final torque must be applied under standard vehicle height conditions.

(b) Fully tighten the bolt (B).

Torque : 110 Nm (1122 kgf-cm, 81 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
* Turn the bolt while holding the nut.
* The final torque must be applied under standard vehicle height conditions.

(c) Fully tighten the nut (C).

Torque : 27 Nm (275 kgf-cm, 20 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
The final torque must be applied under standard vehicle height conditions.

(d) Using a ball joint lock nut wrench, fully tighten the nut (D).

Torque : 140 Nm (1428 kgf-cm, 103 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
* Use the formula to calculate special torque values for situations where the ball joint lock nut wrench is combined with a torque wrench Service Precautions.
* The final torque must be applied under standard vehicle height conditions.

5. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY

(a) Fully tighten the 2 bolts.





Bolt (A) - Torque : 95 Nm (969 kgf-cm, 70 ft-lbf)

Bolt (B) - Torque : 100 Nm (1020 kgf-cm, 74 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
* Turn the bolt while holding the nut.
* The final torque must be applied under standard vehicle height conditions.

6. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE Installation

7. INSTALL NO. 2 DIFFERENTIAL SUPPORT PROTECTOR Installation

8. INSTALL REAR WHEEL

Torque : 103 Nm (1050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf)

9. INSPECT AND ADJUST REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT

Rear Wheel Alignment.

10. INSPECT AND ADJUST HEADLIGHT AIMING (w/ HID Headlight System)

Adjustments.
