Installation





REAR SUSPENSION: REAR UPPER ARM: INSTALLATION

HINT
* Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
* The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

1. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR NO. 1 UPPER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY

(a) Temporarily tighten the rear No. 1 upper control arm assembly to the rear suspension member sub-assembly with the bolt, nut and washer.





(b) Temporarily tighten the rear No. 1 upper control arm assembly to the rear axle assembly with the bolt, nut and washer.





2. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR NO. 2 UPPER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY

(a) Insert the stud of the rear No. 2 upper control arm assembly to the rear axle assembly.





(b) Temporarily install the rear No. 2 upper control arm assembly to the rear suspension member sub-assembly with the bolt, nut and washer.

HINT
Push the rear axle assembly downward.

(c) Install a new nut and fully tighten the nut.





Torque : 70 Nm (714 kgf-cm, 52 ft-lbf)

3. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY

(a) Temporarily install the stabilizer link assembly and height control sensor link bracket to the rear No. 2 suspension arm assembly with the bolt and nut.

HINT
There is only the height control sensor link bracket on vehicles with the HID headlight system.

(b) Temporarily install the rear shock absorber with coil spring with the bolt and nut.





NOTICE:
Turn the bolt while holding the nut.

4. STABILIZE SUSPENSION Installation

5. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR NO. 1 UPPER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY

(a) Fully tighten the nut.





Torque : 161 Nm (1642 kgf-cm, 119 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
The final torque must be applied under standard vehicle height conditions.

(b) Using a ball joint lock nut wrench, fully tighten the nut.





Torque : 161 Nm (1642 kgf-cm, 119 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
* Use the formula to calculate special torque values for situations where the ball joint lock nut wrench is combined with a torque wrench Service Precautions.
* The final torque must be applied under standard vehicle height conditions.

6. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR NO. 2 UPPER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a ball joint lock nut wrench, fully tighten the nut.





Torque : 145 Nm (1479 kgf-cm, 107 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
* Use the formula to calculate special torque values for situations where the ball joint lock nut wrench is combined with a torque wrench Service Precautions.
* The final torque must be applied under standard vehicle height conditions.

7. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY

(a) Fully tighten the nut.





Torque : 27 Nm (275 kgf-cm, 20 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
The final torque must be applied under standard vehicle height conditions.

(b) Fully tighten the bolt.





Torque : 110 Nm (1122 kgf-cm, 81 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
* Turn the bolt while holding the nut.
* The final torque must be applied under standard vehicle height conditions.

8. INSTALL NO. 2 DIFFERENTIAL SUPPORT PROTECTOR Installation

9. INSTALL REAR WHEEL

Torque : 103 Nm (1050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf)

10. INSPECT AND ADJUST REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT

Rear Wheel Alignment.

11. INSPECT AND ADJUST HEADLIGHT AIMING (w/ HID Headlight System)

Adjustments.
