Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System

CRUISE CONTROL: DYNAMIC RADAR CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM: U1102: Lost Communication with Radar Sensor
U1102 - Lost Communication with Radar Sensor

DESCRIPTION

The millimeter wave radar sensor assembly and distance control ECU transmit the data for general vehicle control and diagnosis function using communication lines. The distance control ECU determines the curve radius information based on signals from the steering sensor and yaw rate sensor. The distance control ECU transmits the current vehicle speed and curve radius information to the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly.

WIRING DIAGRAM

Refer to DTC U0235 Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
* When the distance control ECU is replaced with a new one, initialization must be performed Installation.
* When the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly is replaced with a new one, adjustment of the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly beam axis must be performed Adjustments.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DISTANCE CONTROL ECU - MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY)

(a) Disconnect the distance control ECU connector.

(b) Disconnect the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance (Check for Open):

Standard Resistance (Check for Short):

Text in Illustration

(d) Reconnect the distance control ECU connector.

(e) Reconnect the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly connector.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (DISTANCE CONTROL ECU - MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY)
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DISTANCE CONTROL ECU - BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the distance control ECU connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance (Check for Open):

(c) Reconnect the distance control ECU connector.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (DISTANCE CONTROL ECU - BODY GROUND)
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. REPLACE DISTANCE CONTROL ECU

(a) Replace the distance control ECU Removal.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (DTC U1102)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Clear the DTCs Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System.

(e) Perform the following to make sure that the DTC detection conditions are met.

HINT
If the detection conditions are not met, the malfunction cannot be detected.

(1) Drive the vehicle at a speed of 50 km/h (30 mph) or more.

(2) Turn the cruise control main switch on.

(f) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Radar Cruise / Trouble Codes.

(g) Read the DTCs Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System.

Result:

B -- REPLACE MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY Removal

A -- END
