DESCRIPTION
The front controller receives fog light switch information from the headlight dimmer switch assembly, and turns on the fog light.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Body No. 5 / Active Test.
(e) Check that the relay operate.
Body No. 5 (Front Controller)
OK:
Fog lights illuminate.
NG -- INSPECT FUSE (FR FOG)
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Exterior Lighting System
2. INSPECT FUSE (FR FOG)
(a) Remove the FR FOG fuse from the No. 2 engine room relay block.
(b) Measure the resistance of the fuse.
Standard Resistance:
Below 1 Ohms
NG -- REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT CONTROLLER - BATTERY)
(a) Disconnect the 2E front controller connector.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT CONTROLLER - FOG LIGHT)
(a) Check the wire harness between the front fog light LH and front controller, and the front fog light LH and body ground.
(1) Disconnect the 2G front controller connector.
(2) Disconnect the B13 fog light connector.
(3) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
(b) Check the wire harness between the front fog light RH and No. 2 engine room relay block, and the front fog light RH and body ground.
(1) Disconnect the 2G front controller connector.
(2) Disconnect the B1 fog light connector.
(3) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE FRONT CONTROLLER (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)
