DESCRIPTION

The luggage compartment door closer is controlled by the luggage closer motor (power trunk lid control ECU). The closer motor is activated according to the switch signals in the luggage compartment door closer.

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR KEY CYLINDER)

(a) Check the Data List for proper functioning of the luggage compartment door closer.

2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR CLOSER)

(a) Check the Data List for proper functioning of the luggage compartment door closer.

3. INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER SWITCH





(a) Remove the luggage door opening switch Removal.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

NG -- REPLACE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER SWITCH Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE CLOSER MOTOR - LUGGAGE DOOR OPENING SWITCH)





(a) Disconnect the S43 motor connector.

(b) Disconnect the S38 switch connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE LUGGAGE CLOSER MOTOR ASSEMBLY Components

5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE CLOSER MOTOR - LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR CLOSER)





(a) Disconnect the S36 closer connector.

(b) Disconnect the S43 motor connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

6. CHECK LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR CLOSER ASSEMBLY (OPERATION)

(a) Temporarily replace the luggage compartment door closer with a new or normally functioning one Removal.

(b) Check the manual luggage compartment door closer operation Operation Check.

OK:

Manual luggage compartment door closer operation is normal.

NG -- REPLACE LUGGAGE CLOSER MOTOR ASSEMBLY Components

OK -- END (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR CLOSER ASSEMBLY IS DEFECTIVE)

7. INSPECT FUSE (PTL)

(a) Remove the PTL fuse from the luggage room junction block.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.

8. INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR CLOSER ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the luggage compartment door closer Removal.

(b) Set the luggage compartment door closer to the half-latch position.

(c) Apply battery voltage to the closer connector and check the closer operation.

OK:

9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE CLOSER MOTOR - LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR CLOSER)





(a) Disconnect the S43 motor connector.

(b) Disconnect the S36 closer connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

10. INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR KEY CYLINDER

(a) Remove the luggage compartment door key cylinder Components.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

NG -- REPLACE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK CYLINDER Components
OK -- Continue to next step.

11. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU - LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR KEY CYLINDER)





(a) Disconnect the S63 ECU connector.

(b) Disconnect the S39 cylinder connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

OK -- REPLACE LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU)
