Operation Check
SUSPENSION CONTROL: AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM: OPERATION CHECK
1. CHECK ABSORBER CONTROL ACTUATOR OPERATION
(a) Remove the actuator with its connectors still connected.
(b) Turn the power switch OFF.
(c) Using SST, connect the terminals 12 (TS) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3.
SST : 09843-18040
(d) Turn the power switch ON (READY).
(e) Check that the absorber control indicator light "SPORT" is blinking in test mode.
HINT
If the absorber control indicator light does not blink, inspect the indicator circuit and TS and CG terminal circuit.
(f) Check absorber control actuator operation.
(1) Starting from the above mentioned position, each time the brake pedal is depressed, the absorber control actuator position will increase by 2 steps (1 (SOFT) -> 3 -> 5 -> 7 -> 9 -> 11 -> 13 -> 15 -> 17 (HARD)). At this time, bounce the vehicle and check that the shock absorber is becoming harder.
HINT
* Every time the brake pedal is depressed, the absorber control actuator rotates in the soft to hard direction in 15° intervals up to a maximum angle of 120°.
* To hold the absorber control actuator at a specific position, adjust it using the above mentioned procedure, then increase the vehicle speed to 5 km/h (3 mph). After that, the absorber control actuator position does not change until the power switch is turned OFF.
* If the absorber control actuator does not operate, inspect the absorber control actuator circuit and absorber control actuator installation condition.
2. CHECK HEIGHT CHANGE OPERATION
(a) Turn the power switch ON (READY), press the height control switch and adjust the vehicle height from NORMAL to HEIGHT HIGH.
OK:
Height control compressor begins operation within about 2 seconds after switch operation. Height adjustment finishes within about 60 seconds after height control compressor begins operation. Change in vehicle height is 10 to 30 mm (0.394 to 1.18 in.).
(b) With the vehicle in the HEIGHT HIGH position, press the height control switch and return the vehicle to NORMAL.
OK:
Release of air begins within about 2 seconds after switch operation. Height adjustment finishes within about 60 seconds after release of air begins. Change in vehicle height is 10 to 30 mm (0.394 to 1.18 in.).
3. CHECK HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT OPERATION
(a) Turn the power switch OFF and have 4 people get into the vehicle (2 in the front and 2 in the rear).
HINT
The average weight for one person is about 55 kg (121.3 lb).
(b) Turn the power switch ON (READY) and check the amount of time until height adjustment finishes.
OK:
Height control compressor begins operation within about 2 seconds after turning the power switch ON (READY).
Height adjustment finishes within about 100 seconds after height control compressor begins operation.
(c) Turn the power switch OFF and have the 4 people get out of the vehicle.
(d) Turn the power switch ON (READY) and check the amount of time until height adjustment finishes.
OK:
Release of air begins within about 2 seconds after turning power switch ON (READY).
Height adjustment finishes within about 50 seconds after release of air begins.
4. CHECK CONNECTIONS OF TUBES FOR AIR LEAKAGE
(a) Set the height control switch in the "HEIGHT HIGH" position and raise the vehicle height.
(b) Turn the power switch OFF.
(c) Apply soapy water to the connections of the tubes and check if there is any air leakage.
