Normal Operation
When auto-lock is enabled the vehicle security module reads inputs from the door ajar switches (all doors closed) and receives input from the digital transmission range (TR) sensor and the brake pedal position (BPP) switch from the instrument cluster via the universal asynchronous receiver-transmitter (UART)-based protocol (UBP) network.

Once the vehicle security module receives both inputs the doors will automatically lock.

Possible Causes
- DTC 1321 will set when the driver door ajar circuit is shorted to battery
- DTC 1329 will set when the passenger door ajar circuit is shorted to battery
- DTC 1333 will set when the liftgate ajar circuit is shorted to battery
- DTC 1337 will set when the door ajar RR circuit is shorted to battery
- DTC 1573 will set when the door ajar LR circuit is shorted to battery
- universal asynchronous receiver-transmitter (UART)-based protocol (UBP) network
