Normal Operation
The transmission range sensor allows the vehicle to be started in PARK and NEUTRAL. The transmission range sensor tells the PCM what position the manual lever is in. Will illuminate the reverse lamps.

Possible Causes
If the vehicle will not start in PARK or NEUTRAL, it could be caused by the following:
- Short to ground
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Open circuit
- Faulty digital Transmission Range (TR) sensor
- Faulty PCM
