XB72 - Check Power to A/C Clutch Circuit For Short to Ground

- Key "OFF".

- A/C clutch disconnected.

- Disconnect Variable Control Relay Module (VCRM). Inspect for damaged or pushed out pins, corrosion, loose wires, etc. Service as necessary.

- Measure resistance between the power-to-A/C clutch circuit at the A/C clutch vehicle harness connector and the battery negative post.

- Is resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?

Yes -- Replace VCRM. Reconnect all components. Clear continuous memory. Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

Start engine. Turn A/C "ON", wait 15 seconds. A/C "OFF". Key "OFF". Rerun quick test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)

No -- Service power-to-A/C clutch circuit short to ground. Reconnect all components. Clear continuous memory. Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes
