DTC B1665 - Driver Seat Horizontal Output Circuit Failure

NOTE: If DTC B1663, B1664, and B1665 are retrieved at the same time GO to Pinpoint Test A. A - DTCs B1663, B1664 & B1665 Driver Seat Motor Circuit Failure

B1665-1 - Rerun Test

- Turn ignition switch to RUN.
- Turn ignition switch OFF. These two steps "wake up" the driver seat module.
- Open driver side door. This disables delay accessory function.

NOTE: Seat will move a short distance in each direction during self-test.

- Execute self-test.
- Inspect seat track and make sure that all obstructions are removed.
- Rerun self-test.

Is DTC B1665 still present?

YES GO to B1665-2.
NO System operating normally.

B1665-2 - Check For Other Diagnostic Trouble Codes

- Make sure ignition switch remains OFF.

Are DTCs B1863 and B1664 also set?

YES GO to Pinpoint Test B. B - DTCs B1952, B1956 & B1964 Drvr Seat Pot Short To B+ Or Open
NO GO to B1665-3.

B1665-3 - Test Motors

- Press driver seat forward switch for 2 seconds.
- Press driver seat rearward switch for 2 seconds.
- Press driver seat forward switch for 2 seconds.

Does motor move for 1 second, then stops before switch is released?

YES GO to B16654.
NO SERVICE both circuits 980 (Y/W) and 981 (R/W) to motor for open. SERVICE motor. SERVICE seat track for sticking. RETEST system.

B1665-4 - Test Potentiometer Feedback For Open

- Using a voltmeter, carefully back probe forward/back potentiometer input circuit 442 (LG/O) on pin C3-2 of driver seat module connector for voltage.

Is voltage reading 0.5 - 4.5 volts, but does not change when associated motor is moved? Yes

YES SERVICE potentiometer. MAKE SURE potentiometer is seated properly on rear of motor. RETEST system.
NO GO to B1665-5.

B1665-5 - Test Potentiometer Feedback For Short

- Back probe forward/back potentiometer input circuit 442 (LG/O) on pin C3-2 of driver seat module connector for voltage.

Is voltage reading less than 0.5 volt?

YES SERVICE circuits 442 (LG/O) and 446 (O/W) into potentiometer for open circuit or short to ground. LEAVE probe connected.
NO GO to B1665-6.

B1665-6 - Test Potentiometer Feedback For B+

- Check probe still connected to circuit 442 (LG/O) on pin C3-2 of driver seat module connector.

Is voltage 4.5 - 5 volts?

YES SERVICE circuit 447 (O/R) for open circuit. RETEST system.
NO REPLACE driver seat module. RETEST system.
