DTC B1873: Turn Signal/Hazard Power Feed Short To Ground

B1873-1 - Rerun Test

- Verify that all switches are off and ignition switch is in RUN.
- Clear DTC.
- Perform On-Demand self test.

Is DTC B1873 still present?

YES GO to B1873-3.
NO GO to B1873-2

B1873-2 - Check Switch

- Read PID FLSHPWR.
- Turn ignition switch to RUN.
- Toggle hazard switch several times.

Does PID show that flasher power is present at all times, except momentarily while switch is between states?

YES System operating normally.
NO REPLACE multi-function switch. RETEST system.

B1873-3 - Check Switch PID

- Read PID FLSHPWR.
- Turn ignition switch to RUN.

Does PID show that power is on?

YES REPLACE lighting control module. RETEST system.
NO GO to B1873-4.

B1873-4 - Check Circuit 385 (W/R)

- Turn hazard switch ON.
- Read PID FLSHPWR.

Does PID show that power is on?

YES SERVICE Circuit 298 (P/O) to multi-function switch. RETEST system.
NO SERVICE Circuit 385 (W/R) from multi-function switch to lighting control module. RETEST system.
