Cruise Control Servo Cable: Adjustments

1. Remove the speed control actuator cable clip.

2. Pull on the speed control actuator cable until the throttle starts moving to take up slack, then back off one or two notches so there is approximately 3 mm (0.118 in) of slack in the speed control actuator cable.

CAUTION: The speed control actuator cable must not be pulled tight, otherwise the speed control system may not operate properly. Also the cable must not have excessive slack, otherwise the auxiliary throttle return spring may not operate properly.

NOTE: Make sure the throttle is in the fully closed position.

3. Insert the speed control actuator cable clip and snap into place.
4. Verify that the throttle linkage operates freely and smoothly.
