Normal Operation
The washer fluid level switch circuit 8-GC8 (WH/BU) is open when the washer fluid level is high. When the washer fluid level is low, the switch will close circuit 8-GC8 (WH/BU) with the ground circuit 31-GC8 (BK/OG) to signal the FEM that the washer fluid level is low. The FEM communicates the washer fluid level status to the instrument cluster over the SCP network. The message center uses that information to display the low washer fluid message.
Possible Causes
- circuit 8-GC8 (WH/BU) open or shorted
- circuit 31-GC8 (BK/OG) open
- instrument cluster
- washer fluid level switch
- FEM
