PINPOINT TEST AN: THE INDICATOR DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY - LOW BRAKE FLUID LEVEL DISPLAY

Test AN1-AN4:

Test AN5-AN7:

Normal Operation
The brake fluid level switch circuit 8-GC7 (WH/RD) is open when the brake fluid level is high. When the brake fluid level is low, the switch will close circuit 8-GC7 (WH/RD) with the ground circuit 31-GC7 (BK/BU) to signal the FEM that the brake fluid level is low. The FEM communicates the brake fluid level status to the instrument cluster over the SCP network. The message center uses that information to display the low brake fluid message.

Possible Causes
- circuit 8-GC7 (WH/RD) open
- circuit 31-GC7 (BK/BU) open
- brake fluid switch
- instrument cluster
