Normal Operation
The multifunction switch is hardwired to the instrument cluster through input circuit 8-LG43 (WH/VT) and return circuit 9-LG43 (BN/WH). Differing resistance ranges are used internally within the multifunction switch to allow the instrument cluster to determine whether the multifunction switch is in the RH or LH turn position. The instrument cluster monitors the input from the multifunction switch and turns on either the RH or LH turn/hazard indicators depending on switch position. The multifunction switch position status is also sent from the instrument cluster to the front electronic module (FEM) and the rear electronic module (REM) to turn on the exterior lighting.
Possible Causes
- circuit 8-LG43 (WH/VT) open, short to power or ground
- circuit 9-LG43 (BN/WH) open, short to power
- FEM
- instrument cluster
