PINPOINT TEST F: NO COMMUNICATION WITH THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MODULE

Test F1-F2:

Test F3:

Normal Operation
The instrument cluster communicates interactively with other electronic modules using the standard corporate protocol (SCP) communication network. Communication is accomplished through the use of an unshielded, twisted pair cable data bus line, circuits 4-EG8 (GY/VT) and 5-EG8 (BU/WH). With the key in the START/RUN position, the instrument cluster receives power from the central junction box (CJB) fuse(s) 4 (5A), circuit 15-GG14 (GN/RD) and 17 (5A), circuit 15-JA14 (GN/BK), while in the RUN/ACC position, power is received from the CJB fuse 13 (5A), circuit 75-GG15 (YE/GN). With the key in the OFF position, the instrument cluster receives its keep-alive power from CJB fuse 20 (10A), circuit 29-GG11 (OG/BU). The instrument cluster grounding is accomplished through circuit 91-GG11 (BN/RD).

Possible Causes
- CJB fuse(s): 4 (5A), 13 (5A), 17 (5A) and 20 (10A)
- battery junction box (BJB) fuse 25 (40A)
- circuit 4-EG8 (GY/VT) open, short to power or ground
- circuit 5-EG8 (BU/WH) open, short to power or ground
- circuit 15-GG14 (GN/RD) open or short to ground
- circuit 15-JA14 (GN/BK) open or short to ground
- circuit 29-GG11 (OG/BU) open or short to ground
- circuit 31-AL11 (BK) open
- circuit 75-GG15 (YE/GN) open or short to ground
- circuit 91-GG11 (BN/RD) open
- instrument cluster
