Normal Operation
The passive anti-theft system (PATS) uses an anti-theft indicator housed in the light sensor. This indicator proves out for 3 seconds when the ignition switch is turned to the RUN or START position under normal operation. If there is a PATS concern, this indicator either flashes rapidly or glows steadily (for more than 3 seconds) when the ignition switch is turned to the RUN or START position. The anti-theft indicator receives voltage on circuit 10-GL6 (GY/VT) and ground on circuit 29-GL6 (OG).
Possible Causes
- fuse
- circuit 10-GL6 (GY/VT) open or short to ground
- circuit 29-GL6 (OG) open or short to ground
- no signal from the instrument cluster
- light sensor
- instrument cluster
