Normal Operation
When the key is placed in START, voltage is sent to the audio unit through circuit 50-MD15 (GY/OG). When the audio unit receives this signal, it mutes the speaker signals. After the key is removed from START, the audio unit directs audio signals to the door speakers through separate positive and negative circuits. Audio signals are also sent to the center imaging amplifier (if equipped) and the subwoofer amplifier (if equipped). The audio signals are then amplified and sent to the respective speakers. The audio unit provides internal circuit protection for shorts to ground, shorts to voltage, or shorts between any output circuits.
