Normal Operation
The driver door module (DDM) sends a voltage reference (VREF) to the memory set switch on circuits 8-AH32 (WH/BU), 8-AH31 (WH/RD) and 8-AH27 (WH). When memory set switch button 1 or 2 is pressed (within 5 seconds of pressing memory set button 3), the VREF on the circuits to the pressed buttons are grounded, providing inputs to the DDM. Once the DDM receives the inputs from memory set button 3; then 1 (or 2), the DDM saves the current mirror settings using the inputs from the exterior mirror position sensors. When the DDM receives an input from the memory set switch button 1, circuit 8-AH31 (WH/RD) or button 2, circuit 8-AH32 (WH/BU) the DDM adjusts the driver mirror accordingly and sends a signal to the front electronic module (FEM) over the standard corporate protocol (SCP) communication link to adjust the passenger mirror as per the memory set switch button.
The DDM receives inputs on the position of the LH exterior mirror from circuits 8-AD18 (WH/BK), 7-AD18 (YE/BK), 10-AD18 (GY/BK) and 9-AD18 (BN/YE) while the FEM receives inputs on the RH exterior mirror from circuits 8-AD19 (WH/RD), 7-AD19 (YE/RD), 10-AD19 (GY/RD) and 9-AD19 (BN/RD).
Possible Causes
- circuit 8-AH27 (WH) open or short to ground
- circuit 8-AH31 (WH/RD) open or short to ground
- circuit 8-AH32 (WH/BU) open or short to ground
- circuit 31-AH27 (BK) open
- DDM
- memory set switch
