Normal Operation
When the brake pedal is applied, the stoplamp switch supplies voltage to the powertrain control module (PCM) through circuit 29S-CF1 (OG/BU) to indicate that the brake pedal is applied. When the PCM senses the voltage from the stoplamp switch, the speed control is deactivated. The speed control deactivator switch interrupts the power signal to the PCM through circuit 15S-RE25 (GN/OG) when the brake pedal is applied firmly and passes the stoplamp switch trip point. This is a redundant signal to the PCM.
Possible Causes
- Fuse
- Circuit 15S-PG6 (GN/YE) open
- Circuit 15S-RE25 (GN/OG) open or short to voltage
- Circuit 29S-RE13 (OG) open or short to voltage
- Speed control deactivator switch
