Roof Opening Panel Motor Initialization

WARNING: Keep objects and body parts clear of the glass panel when carrying out the initialization procedure. During the initialization procedure, the glass panel closes with high force and cannot detect objects in its path. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

NOTE: The roof opening panel motor(s) must be initialized when repairs are carried out on any part of the roof opening panel system, including: whenever the roof opening sliding glass panel motor or power shade motor has been removed from the roof opening panel system, the roof opening panel glass has been removed from the roof opening panel system, the roof opening panel assembly has been removed from the vehicle, a new roof opening panel motor has been installed, a new roof opening panel glass has been installed or a new roof opening panel assembly has been installed.

NOTE: Refer to Description and Operation, Intelligent Access with Push Button Start in Antitheft and Alarm Systems to review the procedures for achieving the various ignition states (ignition OFF, ignition in ACCESSORY, ignition ON, ignition START) on vehicles with this feature.

Front Sliding Glass Panel Motor

NOTE: A new front sliding glass panel motor will only move towards the VENT position and must be initialized.

1. Turn the ignition to the RUN position.

2. Push the TILT switch until the front sliding glass panel moves to the VENT position.
- For an existing roof opening panel motor, go to Step 3.

- For a new roof opening panel motor, skip to Step 4.

3. NOTE: The driver or passenger front door must be open during this step.

Complete the following within 5 seconds:

- Cycle the ignition to the OFF position and then back to the RUN position.

- Push the TILT switch for one second and release.

4. Push and hold the TILT switch until movement is heard.

5. Release the switch and verify successful initialization by carrying out one-touch open, one-touch close and one-touch vent operations.

Power Shade Motor

NOTE: A new power shade motor will only move towards the CLOSED position and must be initialized.

6. Turn the ignition to the RUN position.

7. Pull the shade control switch until the power shade moves to the CLOSED position.
- For an existing power shade motor, go to Step 8.

- For a new power shade motor, skip to Step 9.

8. NOTE: The driver or passenger front door must be open during this step.

Complete the following within 5 seconds.

- Cycle the ignition to the OFF position and then back to the RUN position.

- Pull the shade control switch for one second and release.

9. Pull and hold the shade control switch until movement is heard.

10. Release the switch and verify successful initialization by carrying out one-touch open and one-touch close operations.
