Pinpoint Test F: The Memory Set Switch Illumination is Inoperative
Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 71, Cluster and Panel Illumination for schematic and connector information. Diagrams By Number
Normal Operation
When the accessory delay relay energizes, voltage is supplied to the memory set switch through circuit CBB38 (GY/BU). The switch illumination is grounded through circuit GD133 (BK).
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Memory set switch
PINPOINT TEST F: THE MEMORY SET SWITCH ILLUMINATION IS INOPERATIVE
NOTICE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.
-------------------------------------------------
F1 CHECK THE OPERATION OF THE MEMORY SET SWITCH
- Operate the memory seats from the switch.
- Do the memory seats operate?
Yes
GO to F2.
No
REFER to Seats.
-------------------------------------------------
F2 CHECK CIRCUIT CBB38 (GY/BU) FOR VOLTAGE
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: Memory Set Switch C503.
- Ignition ON.
- Measure the voltage between the memory set switch C503-3, circuit CBB38 (GY/BU), harness side and ground.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
Yes
INSTALL a new memory set switch. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
REPAIR the circuit for an open.
