Pinpoint Test H: DTC U1197

Normal Operation
- DTC U1197 (SCP (J1850) Invalid or Missing Data for Door Locks) - set by the Lighting Control Module (LCM) whenever it receives invalid data from the Driver Door Module (DDM).

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:


- Module communication
- LCM
- DDM



PINPOINT TEST H: DTC U1197

H1 VERIFY CUSTOMER CONCERN


- Ignition ON.
- Verify that there is an observable symptom present.
- Is an observable symptom present?

Yes
GO to H2.

No
The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or intermittent fault condition.

H2 CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK


- Ignition ON.
- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: Network Test.
- Carry out the network test.
- Does the LCM and the DDM pass the network test?

Yes
GO to H3.

No
REFER to Information Bus.

H3 RECHECK THE LCM DTCs


NOTE: If new modules were installed prior to the DTC being set, the module configuration may be incorrectly set during Programmable Module Installation (PMI) or the PMI may not have been carried out.

- Clear the DTCs. Repeat the LCM self-test.
- Is DTC U1197 still present?

Yes
INSTALL a new LCM. REFER to Lighting Control Module (LCM) Service and Repair. TEST the system for normal operation. REPEAT the LCM self-test.

If DTC U1197 is still present, INSTALL a new Driver Door Module (DDM). REFER to Driver Door Module (DDM) Service and Repair.

No
The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or intermittent fault condition.
