Pinpoint Test AA: The Headlamps On Warning Chime Does Not Operate Correctly

Normal Operation

The Lighting Control Module (LCM) monitors the headlamp switch input and the driver door ajar switch input, sounding a chime if the driver door is open, the headlamps or parking lamps are on, and the ignition switch is not in the ON position.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

- LCM


PINPOINT TEST AA: THE HEADLAMPS ON WARNING CHIME DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY

AA1 CHECK THE PARKING LAMPS OPERATION


- Place the headlamp switch in the PARKING LAMPS ON position.
- Are the parking lamps illuminated?

Yes
GO to AA2.

No
REFER to Exterior Lighting Testing and Inspection.

AA2 CHECK THE INTERIOR LAMPS OPERATION


- Open the driver door and observe the interior lamps.
- Are the interior lamps illuminated?

Yes
INSTALL a new LCM. REFER to Multifunction Electronic Modules Lighting Control Module (LCM). TEST the system for normal operation.

No
REFER to Interior Lighting Testing and Inspection.
