Flow Chart No.1 - Symptom - One door lock inoperative.

Step 1




Check operation of suspect door lock.
1. Manually operate inoperative door lock, checking for binding or stuck condition.




2. Is lock stuck or binding?

Step 2
Check suspect power door lock actuator lock operation.
1. Gain access to, then disconnect, suspect power door lock actuator.

NOTE
^ Reconnect door lock switch connector.




2. Check voltage at P/B wire of door lock actuator connector while pressing "Lock" on door lock switch.




3. Is battery voltage present?

Step 3
Check power door lock actuator for unlock operation.




1. Connect voltmeter to R/O wire at door lock actuator connector.
2. Actuate switch in the unlock position.




3. Is battery voltage present?

Step 4
Check power door lock actuator.
1. Using two 10-gauge jumper wires connected to battery positive (+) and battery negative (-), attach jumpers to actuator connector; reverse polarity for opposite direction.




2. Did actuator operate correctly?

Step 5
Check power door lock actuator.
1. Using ammeter, check current draw of actuator.




2. Is current draw 6 amps or less?
