Removal and Replacement

PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT (PATS) TRANSCEIVER






Removal and Installation
1. Remove the ignition lock cylinder.
1. Insert the ignition key into the ignition lock cylinder and turn to the ON position.
2. Push the ignition lock cylinder release tab with a suitable tool while pulling out the ignition lock cylinder.

2. Remove the steering column cover and reinforcement. See STEERING COLUMN.
3. Remove the tilt column handle.
4. Remove the 3 screws and the upper and lower steering column shrouds.
5. Disconnect the electrical connector.
6. Open the 2 clockspring wiring harness guides.
7. Remove the screw and the PATS transceiver.

NOTE: Replacement of the PATS transceiver does not require the PATS keys to be programmed into the instrument cluster again.

8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
