EVAPORATIVE EMISSION SYSTEM LEAK TEST

CAUTION:The evaporative emission system must not be pressurized to more than 3.48 kPa (14 in/H2O) or damage to the evaporative emission system may occur.
1. Connect evaporative emission (EVAP) system tester SST (134-01049) or equivalent at the evaporative emission test port.

2. Access Output Test Mode using IDS or equivalent tester. See - On - Board Diagnostic Tests.

3. Select EVAPCV PID.

4. Select ALL OFF mode and press START to close the canister vent solenoid.
NOTE:Output Test Mode will default to its normal state after 10 minutes, after the vehicle is started or after cycling the key OFF then ON.

5. Follow the tester instruction:

- If the system passed leak test, no leak exists.
- If the system failed leak test, perform See Test 10: Fuel Line Pressure/Fuel Pressure Hold Inspection.

NOTE:The leak tester detects smaller leak than minimum requirement in the PCM. Drive cycle procedure should be final confirmation method.
