Air Register: Service and Repair
VENTILATOR GRILLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATIONWARNING: Handling the air bag module improperly can accidentally operate (deploy) the air bag module, which may seriously injure you. Read the service warnings and cautions before handling the air bag module.
Driver's Side
1. Remove the battery cover.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. Remove the following parts:
1. Front scuff plate inner (driver's side)
2. Front side trim (driver's side)
3. Side wall
4. Front console
5. Lower panel
6. Meter hood
7. Lower column cover
8. Driver-side air bag module
9. Steering wheel
10. Instrument cluster
11. Duct
12. Steering shaft
4. Remove the screws at A in the figure.
5. Remove the screw.
6. Pull the dashboard face outward to secure a space.
7. Pull the ventilator grille out.
8. Install in the reverse order of removal.
Passenger's Side
1. Remove the battery cover.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. Remove the following parts:
1. Front scuff plate inner (passenger's side)
2. Front side trim (passenger's side).
3. Side panel (passenger's side)
4. Side wall
5. Front console
6. Glove compartment
7. Center panel unit
8. LCD unit (vehicles with car-navigation system)
9. Dashboard center panel (vehicles without car-navigation system)
10. Duct
11. Car-navigation unit (vehicles with car-navigation system)
12. Passenger-side air bag module
13. Dashboard garnish
4. Remove the screws at A in the figure.
5. Remove the bolt at B in the figure.
6. Remove the screw.
7. Pull the dashboard face outward to secure a space.
8. Pull the ventilator grille out.
9. Install in the reverse order of removal.
Center
1. Remove the following parts:
1. Side wall
2. Front console
3. Center panel unit
4. LCD unit (vehicles with car-navigation system)
5. Dashboard center panel (vehicles without car-navigation system)
2. Remove the screw.
3. Pull the center ventilator grille outward and detach clips A.
4. Remove the center ventilator grille.
5. Install in the reverse order of removal.
