Curtain Air Bag Module Removal/Installation
CURTAIN AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
WARNING:
- Handling the air bag module improperly can accidentally deploy the air bag module, which may seriously injure you. Read the air bag system service warnings and cautions before handling the air bag module. Air Bag System Service Warnings Air Bag System Service Cautions
1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
2. Remove the battery cover. Removal and Replacement
3. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for 1 min or more.
4. Remove the following parts:
a. A-pillar trim A-Pillar Trim Removal/Installation
b. Front scuff plate inner Front Scuff Plate Removal/Installation
c. Rear scuff plate Rear Scuff Plate Removal/Installation
d. B-pillar lower trim B-Pillar Lower Trim Removal/Installation
e. Front seat belt upper anchor installation note Front Seat Belt Removal/Installation
f. B-pillar upper trim B-Pillar Upper Trim Removal/Installation
g. Rear package tray lid Service and Repair
h. Third-row seat Third-Row Seat Removal/Installation
i. Rear header trim Rear Header Trim Removal/Installation
j. Trunk end trim Trunk End Trim Removal/Installation
k. Third-row seat belt lower anchor installation note Third-Row Seat Belt Removal/Installation
l. Cargo compartment light Service and Repair
m. Trunk side trim

5. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
6. Install in the reverse order of removal.
7. When the ignition switch is turned to the ON position verify that the air bag system warning light illuminates for approx. 6 s and then goes out.
- If the air bag system warning light does not operate normally, refer to the on-board diagnostic system (air bag system) and perform inspection of the system. Flowchart
Connector Removal Note
1. Using flathead screwdriver, lift the locking device carefully,.however do not remove it.
2. Disconnect the connector.
Curtain Air Bag Module Installation Note
1. Affix the double-sided adhesive tape for the curtain air bag module to the position shown in the figure.
