Survey of selector lever positions





The selector lever can be shifted into 6 different positions.

The selector lever positions mean:

P Parking lock and starting position

R Reverse gear

N Neutral and starting position
(no power transmission occurs and the vehicle can move freely).

D All 5 forwards gears are available

+ Touch: Upshift one gear range at a time
Press and hold: Change from current shift range straight to < D >

-- Touch: Downshift one gear range at a time.
The selected gear is only actuated at the permissible speed.
Press and hold: Change shift range to the gear currently engaged (gear range display in instrument cluster display).

Program selection button:
S Standard program
^ Starting off in 1st gear for all driving situations

W Winter driving program:
^ Always starting off in 2nd gear (except in shift range 1)
^ The speeds in the gears are not used to the full extent.
