QT4 Perform Diagnostic Test Mode (Extracting Codes)
- Start engine and warm it up to normal engine operating condition (drive vehicle for about 10 minutes).
NOTE: If the vehicle does not start, proceed with the test.
- Use one of the following test procedures based on the method used:
- If using NGS Scan Tool:
- Key ON.
- Refer to NGS Scan Tool Screen Displays, on how to select menus.
- Select ENGINE.
- Select DIAGNOSTIC TEST MODE RESULTS.
- Record the failed components and diagnostic trouble codes.
On-Board Diagnostic Connector:
- If using the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL):
- Key ON.
- Disconnect the Diagnostic Test Connector (DTC) in the engine compartment.
- Jump the "BL/W" wire and the "GY/BL" wire together at the DTC.
- Wait 2 seconds, then remove the jumper wire and reconnect the DTC.
- Record the diagnostic trouble codes by reading the MIL flashes.
CODES
Go to QT5. QT5 Erase and Retest
If OBD TEST CANNOT BE PERFORMED
Go to VPWR pinpoint test. Vehicle Power (VPWR)
NGS DISPLAYS 55, NO FAILURES OR MIL FLASHES 55 AND ENGINE STARTS
Pass; Go to QT7. QT7 Perform Switch Monitor Test
NO CODES AND ENGINE DOES NOT START
Go to QT 9. QT9 Check No Start Symptom
