Normal Operation
The PATS uses an anti-theft indicator. This indicator proves out for 3 seconds when the ignition switch is in the ON or START position. If there is a PATS concern, this indicator either flashes rapidly or glows steadily (for more than 3 seconds) when the ignition switch is turned to ON or START. PATS also flashes the anti-theft indicator every 2 seconds at key OFF to act as a visual theft deterrent.

Possible Causes
- no signal from anti-theft module
- anti-theft indicator is inoperative
- powertrain control module (PCM)
- circuit 645 (WH/LB)
- circuit 343 (DB/LG)
