Normal Operation
If the power liftgate (PLG) is operated from the overhead console open/close switch, circuit 2054 (YE) is grounded by the open/close switch through circuit 1203 (BK/LB). Then the smart junction box (SJB) receives this signal, it grounds circuit 700 (WH/VT) which signals the PLG module of the open/close request.

If the PLG is operated from the rear open/close switch, circuit 2053 (DB) is grounded by the rear open/close switch through circuit 1205 (BK).

The PLG system shares the overhead console on/off switch with the power sliding door (PSD) system. The overhead console on/off switch supplies a ground input through circuit 1236 (VT/WH) to the PLG module when it is in the ON position. When the overhead console on/off switch is in the OFF position, ground is removed and PLG operation is disabled.
