Instrument Cluster (IC)

Instrument Cluster (IC)

Removal

NOTE: If installing a new Instrument Cluster (IC), all vehicle keys are erased during the parameter reset procedure. Verify at least 2 of the vehicle keys are available prior to carrying out this procedure.

1. If installing a new IC, upload the module configuration information to the scan tool. For additional information, refer to Module Configuration Testing and Inspection.

2. Lower the tilt steering column to the lowest position.

3. Pull the IC finish panel straight out to release the retainer clips and remove the finish panel.
- Disconnect the instrument panel dimmer switch electrical connector and the ambient air temperature sensor (if equipped).

4. Remove the 4 IC screws and the IC.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.

Installation

1. Position the IC, connect the electrical connector and install the 4 instrument cluster screws.

2. Position the IC finish panel, connect the instrument panel dimmer switch electrical connector, the ambient air temperature sensor (if equipped) and install the finish panel.

3. If installing a new IC, download the IC configuration information from the scan tool into the new IC. For additional information, refer to Programmable Module Installation (PMI) in Module Configuration Programmable Module Installation (PMI).

4. NOTE: If a new IC is installed, the IC and the PCM require a parameter reset to allow the IC and the PCM to recognize each other. Failure to carry out the parameter reset to the IC and the PCM results in a no start condition.

NOTE: The vehicle's Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) keys must be programmed to the new IC.

If installing a new IC, carry out the parameter reset and key programming procedure. For additional information, refer to Anti-Theft - Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) Parameter Reset and Programming and Relearning (non-hybrid) or Anti-Theft - Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) - Hybrid Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) Parameter Reset and Programming and Relearning (hybrid).
