B1529 - Memory Set Switch Short To Battery (B+)
DTC B1529 - Memory Set Switch Short To Battery (B+)NOTE: Ford DOES NOT provide a procedure to perform the following pinpoint test without the Rotunda New Generation Star (NGS) tester 007-00500 or equivalent.
B1529-1 - Make Sure Switch Is Not Active
- Turn ignition switch to RUN.
- Turn ignition switch OFF. These two steps 'wake up" the driver seat module.
- Open driver side door. This disables delay accessory function.
NOTE: Seat will move a short distance in each direction during self-test.
- Execute self-test.
- Make sure memory self-test switch is not pressed.
- ClearDTC.
- Rerun self-test diagnostics.
Is DTC B1529 still present?
YES GO to B1529-3.
NO GO to B1529-2.
B1529-2 - Make Sure That Switch Is Not Sticking
- Set NGS to read MEMS_SWPID.
- Make sure ignition remains OFF.
- Press and release the memory button several times.
Does PID show that button releases within one second fmm when the switch is released?
YES System operating normally. Continuous DTC would be set if the memory OFF switch was held for more than two minutes
NO REPLACE memory switch. RETEST system.
B1529-3 - Test Circuit 270 (BR/O)
- Disconnect connector C2 from driver seat module.
- Carefully probe pin C2-3 to driver seat module for voltage.
Is voltage reading B+?
YES GO to B1529-4.
NO REPLACE driver seat module. RETEST system.
B1529-4 - Test Switch For Voltage
- Disconnect memory switch.
- Carefully probe Pin C2-3 to driver seat module connector for voltage
Is voltage reading B+?
YES SERVICE circuit 270 (BR/O) for short to B+. RETEST system.
NO REPLACE memory switch. RETEST system
