Without Intelligent Key System





KEY SWITCH (BCM INPUT)


Diagnosis Procedure

1.CHECK KEY SWITCH AND KEY LOCK SOLENOID INPUT SIGNAL
With CONSULT-III
Check key switch "KEY ON SW" in DATA MONITOR mode with CONSULT�III. Refer to Without Intelligent Key System.
- When key is inserted to ignition key cylinder:

KEY ON SW :ON

- When key is removed from ignition key cylinder:

KEY ON SW :OFF

Without CONSULT-III





Check voltage between BCM connector M18 terminal 37 and ground.





Is the inspection result normal?
YES - Key switch (insert) circuit is OK.
NO - GO TO 2
2.CHECK KEY SWITCH (INSERT)
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect key switch and key lock solenoid connector.
3. Check continuity between key switch and key lock solenoid terminals 3 and 4.










Is the inspection result normal?
YES - GO TO 3
NO - Replace key switch and key lock solenoid.
3.CHECK KEY SWITCH AND KEY LOCK SOLENOID CIRCUIT
1. Disconnect BCM.





2. Check continuity between the BCM harness connector M18 terminal 37 and key switch and key lock solenoid harness connector M27 terminal 4.
3. Check continuity between BCM harness connector M18 terminal 37 and ground.






Is the inspection result normal?
YES - Check the following:
- 10A fuse [No. 3, located in fuse block (J/B)]
- Harness for open or short between key switch and key lock solenoid and fuse
NO - Repair or replace harness.
