BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE)


Removal and Installation


REMOVAL

NOTE:
If possible, before removing BCM, retrieve current BCM configuration to use for reference when configuring brand-new BCM after installation. Refer to Description Special Repair Requirement Description.
1. Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
2. Remove the lower instrument panel LH. Refer to Exploded View.
3. Remove the knee protector. Refer to Exploded View.





4. Remove the BCM screws and release the BCM.
5. Disconnect the BCM connectors and then remove the BCM.

INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

NOTE:
- When replacing the BCM, it must be configured. Refer to Special Repair Requirement.
- When replacing the BCM, perform initialization of NATS system and registration of all NATS ignition key IDs. Refer to Special Repair Requirement.
- When replacing the BCM, perform ID registration procedure of low tire pressure warning system. Refer to ID Registration Procedure.
- When replacing the BCM, register the remote keyless entry system keyfob ID codes. Refer to Special Repair Requirement.
- When replacing the BCM, perform adjustment procedure for the steering angle sensor. Refer to Type 1 - VDC/TCS/ABS(Type 1) or Type 2 - Hill Descent Control/Hill Start Assist/VDC/TCS/ABS (Type 2).
