Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid Valve Circuit Check
TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH SOLENOID VALVE CIRCUIT CHECKDescription
The torque converter clutch solenoid valve is activated, with the gear in D(4), by the A/T control unit in response to signals sent from the vehicle speed and throttle position sensors. Lock-up piston operation will then be controlled.
Lock-up operation, however, is prohibited when ATF temperature is too low.
Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) confirmation procedure
After the repair, perform the following procedure to confirm the malfunction is eliminated.
With CONSULT
1. Start engine.
2. Select "SELF-DIAG RESULTS" mode with CONSULT.
3. Drive vehicle in D(1) -> D(2) -> D(3) -> D(4) -> D(4) lock-up position.
With Generic Scan Tool
1. Start engine.
2. Select "MODE 3" with GST
3. Drive vehicle in D(1) -> D(2) -> D(3) -> D(4) -> D(4) lock-up position.
No Tools
1. Start engine.
2. Perform self-diagnosis.
