MAGNET CLUTCH CIRCUIT
SYMPTOM: Magnet clutch does not operate when A/C switch and fan control switch are ON.
ELECTRICAL COMPONENT INSPECTION
A/C Relay
Check continuity between terminal Nos.3 and 5.
If NG, replace relay.
Refrigerant Pressure Sensor
Make sure that higher A/C refrigerant pressure results in higher refrigerant-pressure sensor output voltage.
Thermal Control Amp.
1. Run engine and operate A/C system.
2. Connect voltmeter from harness side.
3. Check thermo control amp. operation shown in the table.
COMPRESSOR CLUTCH - INSPECTION
Clutch Disc
If the contact surface shows signs of damage due to excessive heat, replace clutch disc and pulley.
Pulley
Check the appearance of the pulley assembly. If contact surface of pulley shows signs of excessive grooving, replace clutch disc and pulley. The contact surfaces of the pulley assembly should be cleaned with a suitable solvent before reinstallation.
Coil
Check magnet coil for loose connection or cracked insulation.
Thermal Protector
- When servicing, do not allow foreign matter to enter compressor.
- Check continuity between two terminals.
