PARKING BRAKE SWITCH


Description

The parking brake switch converts the status of the parking brake pedal to an electric signal and transmits it to the combination meter. Then, through CAN communication, the signal is carried to the ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit).

Diagnosis Procedure

Regarding Wiring Diagram information, refer to Coupe or VDC/TCS/ABS.
1.CHECK PARKING BRAKE SWITCH CIRCUIT
1. Disconnect combination meter and parking brake switch connectors.
2. Check continuity between combination meter connector M24 terminal 26 and parking brake switch connector M73 (coupe; or sedan with M/T) or E35 (sedan with CVT) terminal 1.

26 - 1 : Continuity should exist.

3. Check continuity between combination meter harness connector M24 terminal 26 and ground.

26 - Ground : Continuity should not exist.

Is the inspection result normal?
YES - GO TO 2
NO - Repair harness or connector.
2.CHECK PARKING BRAKE SWITCH





Check continuity between parking brake switch terminal 1 and switch case ground.





Is the inspection result normal?
YES - Check parking brake switch case ground condition.
NO - Replace parking brake switch.
