Removal and Installation
REMOVAL
1.Disconnect the battery negative terminal. Refer to "Removal and Installation (Battery)" Removal And Installation.
2.Remove the engine room cover. Refer to "Removal and Installation" Removal And Installation.
3.Remove the core support cover. Refer to "Removal and Installation" Removal And Installation.
4.Remove the front air duct. Refer to "Removal and Installation" Removal And Installation.
5.Remove the RH engine mount torque rod. Refer to "Removal and Installation" Removal And Installation.
6.Support the engine using a suitable jack.
7.Remove harness grounds from the top of the engine mount bracket.
8.Remove the RH engine support bracket. Refer to "Removal and Installation" Removal And Installation.
9.Remove the RH engine mounting bracket. Refer to "Removal and Installation" Removal And Installation.
10.Disconnect the PCV hose.
11.Remove the ignition coils. Refer to "Removal and Installation" Removal And Installation.
12.Loosen the bolts in the numerical order as shown using power tool.
13.Remove the rocker cover and the rocker cover gasket. Discard the rocker cover gasket.
CAUTION:
Do not reuse the rocker cover gasket.
14.Remove the oil filler cap, (if necessary).
INSTALLATION
1.Apply liquid gasket to the position shown (A) with the following procedure:
a.Apply liquid gasket to joint part of No.1 camshaft bracket (1) and cylinder head.
b.Apply liquid gasket in a 90� degree angle (B).
-Use Genuine Silicone RTV Sealant, or equivalent. Refer to
{LINK_TO:0000000007991833}.
(B): 10 mm (0.39 in)
(C): 4 mm (0.16 in)
(D): 5 mm (0.20 in)
2.Install rocker cover gasket to rocker cover.
NOTE:
The rocker cover gasket must be securely installed in the groove in the rocker cover.
3.Install the rocker cover and rocker cover gasket onto the cylinder head.
4.Tighten the rocker cover bolts to specification in two steps in the order shown.
Step 1: 1.96 Nm (0.20 kg-m, 17 in-lb)
Step 2: 8.33 Nm (0.85 kg-m, 74 in-lb)
5.Installation of the remaining components is in the reverse order of removal.
