Removal And Installation




STARTER MOTOR

Removal and Installation


REMOVAL

1.Disconnect the battery cable from the negative terminal. Refer to "Removal and Installation" Removal and Replacement.
2.Remove air duct (inlet). Refer to "Removal and Installation" Removal And Installation.
3.Remove "S" terminal nut and "S" terminal harness.
4.Remove "B" terminal nut and "B" terminal harness.
5.Remove oil filter. Refer to "Removal and Installation" Removal And Installation.
6.Remove starter motor bolts.





7.Remove starter motor from underneath the vehicle.
White arrow indicates: Front

CAUTION:
Be careful to not damage surrounding parts when removing starter motor from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

CAUTION:
- Be careful to tighten starter bolts, "S" terminal nut and "B" terminal nut to the specified torque.
- Install oil filter. Refer to "Removal and Installation" Removal And Installation.
- Clean battery terminals and battery cables to remove corrosion prior to connecting.
- Ensure the battery cables are tightened to the specified torque.
NOTE:
Reset electronic systems as necessary.
