Test I: Coolant Temperature Gage Accuracy Test

Disconnect Indicator Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor Connector. Connect red J 33431 tester clip lead to harness connector terminal A (LT GRN), and the other red clip lead to ground. Adjust tester resistance dials to 1365 ohms, 93 ohms and then to 55 ohms. Coolant Temperature Gage should indicate C, midscale, and then H.

^ If Gage indicates correctly, replace Indicator ECT Sensor.

^ If Gage does not indicate correctly, check LT GRN (36) wiring for high resistance; check in-line Connector C260 (terminal N7), C2OO (terminal A8) and Instrument Cluster Connector (terminal C8) for proper terminal contact. If all OK, replace Instrument Cluster
