Transfer Case Bracket Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the right hand axle. Refer to Front Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement (Front Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement).




3. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the crankshaft position sensor (2) and the knock sensor (1).




4. Remove the bolts from the transfer case mounting bracket and engine.
5. Remove the bracket.

Installation Procedure





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

1. Position the transfer case mounting bracket to the vehicle and hand start all bolts.
Tighten the bolts to 50 Nm (37 lb ft).




2. Connect the electrical connectors to the crankshaft position sensor (2) and the knock sensor (1).
3. Install the right hand axle. Refer to Front Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement (Front Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement).
4. Lower the vehicle.
