R: Tachometer Does Not Work Properly

Disconnect connector C2 at the Direct Ignition System. Plug the J-33431 Instrument Panel tester into a wall outlet and connect the J-33431-1O harness connector from the I/P tester to connector C2 terminal C and ground. Set the controls to ON and 54 mph.

^ If the Tachometer reads 1350 rpm check the connections at terminal C to he sure they are clean and tight.

^ If the Tachometer does not read correctly. check the WHT (121) wire for an open (see schematic). If OK, replace the Instrument Cluster (see Service and Repair).
