DTC 19

TEST CONDITIONS
Tested every 100 milliseconds during "Continuous Monitoring."

FAILURE CONDITIONS
DTC 19 sets when voltage at "Pass Side Low" input (B7) is greater than 50% of its respective "36VLR" output (A3) for 500 milliseconds.

CONDITIONS TO CLEAR
Current DTC 19 clears when voltage at "Pass Side Low" input (B7) is less than or equal to 50% of its respective "36VLR" output (A3) for 500 milliseconds.

ACTION TAKEN
DERM turns on "INFLATABLE RESTRAINT" warning lamp.

DESCRIPTION
DTCs 19 sets when failure conditions are met during DERM's "Continuous Monitoring" Tests. These tests are performed for one second after initial "Turn-on" Tests are completed, and every 100 milliseconds while "IGNITION 1" voltage is present at DERM (after "Initiator Circuit Resistance" Tests are completed). "Continuous Monitoring" Tests check both deployment loops for continuity from DERM's "36vLR" outputs through Dual Pole Arming Sensor, Inflator Modules, SIR Coil (driver's side only) and Discriminating Sensors to ground. DTC 19 only, indicates a disconnected Passenger Compartment Discriminating Sensor. DTCs 19 and 24 together indicate an open in Passenger Compartment Discriminating Sensor, or an open in "Pass Side Low" circuit between sensor and Passenger Inflator Module.

NOTES ON FAULT TREE
1. Checks Passenger Compartment Discriminating Sensor and associated pigtail wiring for an open.
2. Checks "Pass Side Low" circuit for an open between Passenger Inflator Module and Passenger Compartment Discriminating Sensor connectors.
3. Checks Passenger Inflator Module and Passenger Compartment Discriminating Sensor connectors for proper terminal contact. Refer to "Intermittents and Poor Connections" to properly check terminals.
4. Checks to make sure Passenger Compartment Discriminating Sensor connector is connected, since DTC 19 sets when connector is apart.
