Hinge Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the rear window shelf trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Window Shelf (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the rear compartment lid struts. Refer to Strut Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid (Service and Repair) .
3. Remove the rear compartment lid. Refer to Compartment Lid Replacement - Rear (Service and Repair) .




4. Remove the rear compartment lid hinge cap (1) from the rear compartment lid hinge (4), if necessary.
5. Use a grease pencil to mark the hinge to the hinge mounting panel (3) for the location at installation.
6. Remove the 4 bolts (2) from hinge (4) at the hinge mounting panel (3).
7. Remove the hinge.



Installation Procedure





1. Position the hinge (4) to the alignment marks on the hinge mounting panel (3).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the 4 hinge bolts (2).

Tighten the rear compartment hinge bolts to 10 N.m (88 lb in).

3. Install the rear compartment lid hinge cap (1), if removed.
4. Install the rear compartment lid. Refer to Compartment Lid Replacement - Rear (Service and Repair) .
5. Install the rear compartment struts. Refer to Strut Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid (Service and Repair) .
6. Install the rear window shelf trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Window Shelf (Service and Repair) .
7. Adjust the rear compartment lid, if necessary. Refer to Compartment Lid Adjustment - Rear (Adjustments) .
8. Close the rear compartment lid.
