Spoiler Replacement - Rear (With Accessory Package)

Removal Procedure

1. Open the rear compartment.
2. Remove the rear compartment lid trim. Refer to Compartment Lid Trim Replacement - Rear (Service and Repair) .




3. Disconnect the spoiler high mount stop lamp connector (1) from the rear compartment lid harness connector (2).




4. Using a flat-bladed tool, remove the retainer (3) from the high mount stop lamp connector (2) and remove each wiring terminal (1).




5. From the underside of the rear compartment lid, remove the 5 screws attaching the rear lid spoiler.
6. Remove the rear lid spoiler, withdrawing the wiring harness from the rear compartment lid.




7. Remove the screw caps (1) and the screws (2) attaching the high mount stop lamp assembly (3) to the rear lid spoiler (4).
8. Remove the high mount stop lamp assembly (3), withdrawing the harness (5) from the spoiler cavity.



Installation Procedure





1. Using a small paint brush, apply zinc-chromate primer to the spoiler stud inner and outer holes.
2. Clean the compartment lid attachment surface using isopropyl alcohol and allow to flash OFF for 30 seconds.
3. Install the high mount stop lamp harness (5) through the spoiler cavity and install the high mount stop lamp assembly (3).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

4. Install the screws (2) that attach the high mount stop lamp assembly (3) to the rear lid spoiler (4).

Tighten the screws to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

5. Install the screw caps (1) over the screws (2).




6. Install the wiring harness to the rear compartment lid.
7. Position the rear compartment lid spoiler to the rear compartment lid.
8. From the underside of the rear compartment lid, install the 5 screws.

Tighten the screws to 5 N.m (44 lb in).





9. Install the wiring terminals (1) to the high mount stop lamp connector (2).
10. Install the retainer (3) to the high mount stop lamp connector (2).




11. Install the high mount stop lamp connector (1) to the rear compartment lid harness connector (2).
12. Install the rear compartment lid trim. Refer to Compartment Lid Trim Replacement - Rear (Service and Repair) .
13. Close the rear compartment lid.
