Rear Door Window Motor: Service and Repair

Window Regulator Motor Replacement - Rear Door

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the rear door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the rear door water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Rear Door (Service and Repair) .




3. Raise the window far enough in order to gain access to the bolts (1) that attach the window to the regulator.
4. Remove the bolts (1) that attach the window to the regulator.
5. Raise the window to the full up position and tape in place.




6. Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the power window motor by pulling out on the tab (1).




7. Remove the window regulator bolts in the specified sequence (1, 2, 3) from the inner door panel.
8. Remove the window regulator and motor through the access opening in the door panel.




9. Remove the window regulator motor bolts from the window regulator.



Installation Procedure

1. Install the window regulator motor bolts to the regulator.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the window regulator motor bolts to the window regulator.

Tighten the bolts to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

3. Install the window regulator and motor through the access opening.




4. Install the window regulator bolts in the specified sequence (1, 2, 3) to the regulator.

Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).





5. Remove the masking tape.
Lower the window far enough in order to gain access to the bolts (1) that attach the window to the regulator.
6. Install the bolts (1) that attach the window to the regulator.

Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).





7. Connect the electrical connector (2) to the power window motor by pushing in on the tab (1).
8. Inspect the window for proper operation.
9. Install the rear door water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Rear Door (Service and Repair) .
10. Install the rear door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door (Service and Repair) .
