CIRCUIT/SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
S19A and S19B are the Rear Compartment Lid Release switches. The folding top control (FTC) module uses these switches to determine whether the dowels located on the front corners of the rear deck lid are present. The switches are closed and pull the signal circuit low when the dowels are present.
CONDITIONS FOR RUNNING THE DTC
The FTC module is being commanded.
CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC
An short to ground is detected on the signal circuit of S19A.
ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS
The top is disabled.
CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE DTC
The fault is no longer present and the top completes one cycle.
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
- A weak battery may cause DTC B366C 59 to set.
- A short to B+ may damage S19A and S19B.
CIRCUIT/SYSTEM TESTING
Test the signal circuit of S19A for a short to voltage. If circuit OK, replace the FTC Module.
